Sometimes we have random thoughts that are too big for the Random Thoughts box, yet they do not quite rise to the level of a real thread.

Sometimes you just want to show off a cool thing you found, much like we use the Music, TV, or Food and Drink threads.

Have something to share? Need get something off your chest? Care to make an observation? Do you feel the need to 'share' with the class? Do it here.

I feel disinfrancised, (if thats a good word, I need to get a small portable dictonary).
I don't like Mccain, and I dont like Obama.
There is no really difference, they both seem to be pandering to everyone, and not really stating clearly on any one definded thing. It seems like the whole election process is a waste of time.

This sucks.

I'm with you on that one, Morgan...I dislike both candidates equally on various levels that I don't even think I can bring myself to vote when the elections roll around. I think Obama's diplomacy is sorely needed at this time, however, to put this country back in a positive international limelight once more, but his socialist agenda and anti-Second Amendment stance put me off in the deep end. McSame/McCain is stuck in the past. Iraq is just another Vietnam in his mind, his wife is a fucking Barbie moron (let's all bake cookies and sing "Kumbaya" kind of woman), and he's even stated on several occasions that economic policy is not his strong suit. One reporter recently remarked that McCain is "out of the loop" with what's going on, both domestically and abroad.

On an unrelated note, since I've gained 10 pounds over the past couple of months, being on a calorie-counting diet seems to be working fairly well. I've been able to keep my daily intake to around 1000 calories, and I've already lost a couple of pounds. I just need to get back down to 125 and things'll be just peachy. Not to mention, my pants'll fit better.

Ah, coupling.... Happiness is putting on weight.

Obama and McCain is a choice between Coke and Pepsi, Frick and Frack, this or that.

As Ayn Rand put it 'In a choice between starvation or eating poison, only Death will win.'

On a happier note, today Jr. learned how to mow the grass. Ahhhh, child labor...

I re-read Clive Barker's Imajica every three or four years, and it is always a completely different story to me. I use this book as a kind of "mile marker" for how my perceptions change over time.

Speaking of books...I have been an avid fan of horror fiction for 25 years or so, but it has only been the last couple of months that I have discovered two fantastic authors who have been putting out books for quite some time.

Richard Laymon

Edward Lee

If you're a fan of horror and suspense, check them out.

"I dislike both candidates equally on various levels that I don't even think I can bring myself to vote when the elections roll around."

This goes through my head every time I have voted since I started voting years ago.

"I think Obama's diplomacy is sorely needed at this time, however, to put this country back in a positive international limelight once more, but his socialist agenda and anti-Second Amendment stance put me off in the deep end."

Obama does seem to be pretty radical in those views. It is a pretty big part of the Democratic agenda. Unfortunately, if he wins with a majority Democratic house and senate, our political agenda will be way too polarized to the Democratic side. This is why I will probably vote for John McCain since I hope it will somewhat keep things in balance.

There's always the option of a write in candidate. While that candidate will never win, it does register. If there is a Libertarian running, I will write their name in. If no Libertarian has declared, then I will simply write "Libertarian". Someone has to count those votes, analyze the data, and report to the parties. If they see an increase in votes for Libertarian, Mickey Mouse, Ralph Nader, it gives them pause to examine why. If a trend is developing, then they will have to take action. It may cause the parties to alter the message and decisions they are taking to attract more members of the fringe who vote this way.

Bob Barr was one of the most anti-govt guys on the Hill until he got fed up with the Republican Party.

I'm a big fan of Bob Barr. I liked a lot of what Kucinich had to offer, but there's no denying he was weak in several key areas...at least for me. Barr seems like a much more feasible option. I'm still learning about him and his agenda, but he's my current choice for write-in candidate. I'll be damned if I'll support McCain or Obama.

Let's do the time warp again. Last night, while attending the Poison concert, I was made aware that there is a large segment of people my age that never flipped their calendar to the 2000's. Nothing quite like seeing an aging guy with a beer gut, squeezed into spandex, half bald, half hair to his back, wearing eyeliner. The guys were a laugh, the ladies were a riot. Dressing like Britney Spears when you are 45 and toting a 12 year old should not be allowed. I guess they had fun playing dress up for a day and re-living some drunken weekend from the days when we were 17. Note to beer drinkers. When being charged $10 for a 24oz can of beer, opt for the Icehouse. It has a higher percentage of alcohol than the rest and is still the same price. Kind of like getting more bang for the $1.

I am really concerned about what happens now...

Come november, we have the choice of 2 (none of my favorites) people who will be president.

They keep hemming and hawing on who they want as vice president. It kinda seems like they want to wait till the last minute so people can't think about them or see if they are really qualified. I mean come on, the decision is in 3 months.

If they can't decide about their running mate, how can they decide anything for this country...

I still think Edwards should have received the nod last election instead of the heinze husband. I think he would have won the election as president. Now, I dont even see them picking him as vice, but he should be.

Morgan

Okay so Edwards fucked around, Mccain fucked around.

A few years back this was the same story they spoke about using Mccains name with the possibility of him fathering a black child.

Same story only Bush pushed the last one as to kill Mccains chances. Now its with Edwards.

Why is it that America is so wrapped up in sex?
Is it the fact that they lied about it, and would lie about the counrty

or

They can't be faithful to their wives thus cant be faithful to this country.

or

They just really dont want Edwards in an higher office.

ideas, comments, or just me ranting.

I really thought he had a chance, but....

The thing I love about the Edwards "scandal" is that his wife probably had a tumor growling in her breast the size of a golfball when he was banging this other chick. Especially after all his bull about his family and how much they mean to him, blah blah blah. I mean, damn, that's just cold.

well, then there's newt and guiliane
both who i believed gave divorce papers to their wives when they were sick in the hospital too.

then that intern who was fucking that senator who ended up dead in washington...

cheating, not cheating, scum, not scum.

the point being, that if they are going to be that stupid to think with their dick, then how can they think about other important stuff and not be persuaded.
I mean even clinton was stupid, but this chickie with edwards was telling reports about edwards and him being an old soul and all this new age shit...

I think hes toast now...

Edwards has great hair. Other than that, he's got nothing. He got rich as an ambulance chasing lawyer that sued the health care industry, didn't improve health care, and only made medicine more expensive for everyone.
