As of late I've been on the prowl for music to accompany my nocturnal hours.

Here I found Satanic Ceremony, some wild organ composition.

Normally I enjoy simple horror music with limited instrumentation, but the organ playing above is good, at least to my ears.

I have a very wide range of musical taste, so any suggestions will likely be appreciated.

All in the spirit of Autumn and Halloween.

I'd make my own music if I could, but I am lacking a keyboard at the moment.

Here is a little sample of what I enjoy when I'm out in the dark:

If you can think of more to add akin to the above list, then do so.

Yours truly is a rock- and metal-fan.
I know my classics and you'll generally hear me listening to a variety of "rock/metal"-artists.

But in the long hours of night, especially after a few drinks, I lay down in my car in the dark while listening to some synthwave.
A favourite of mine is Dance with the dead .

A bit of a callback to the 90ies and early 2000 trance/synthwave raves.

@Dimitri:

That's cool music. I didn't listen to techno as a kid, but I am a product of the 1980s. Nowadays I'm more open to all genres of music. What you've shared here reminds me of 80's horror/scifi movies. I like some of the spooky vocal noises. I'll be listening to it, thanks for posting.

@Oxus: I also liked your link, cool stuff.

You guys hit it home. I like music that's enchanting and energetic.

Didn't see that last reply. I've never watched Nosferatu in its entirety. Didn't know they made one in color, I'll have to check it out. What's your avatar if I might ask?

Woo hoo! Where was that album when we needed it back in the Church days!

A couple of collections we did use were these. Back then they were separate 33.3 vinyl records; now they seem to be just downloadable files. Still kind of fun. FYI the "Carnival of Souls" piece is not the one from the famous movie, but its soundtrack album is available, including a very funky "crazed organ" track.

@Sabrina: Those almost made me puke.

@Aquino: Those songs are good, they capture the classic horror vibe. I liked the Satanic Ceremony because of the intense organ playing. I don't know what it is about the sound of organ music but it puts me in a good way \:\)

Midnight Syndicate is another night-themed project, most of their songs are too 'creepy doll/music box' for me, but I like enough of 'em.

I enjoy sound effects with music, some of those old 'spooky soundtracks for halloween' are fun, better than a lot of the 'nightmare ambiance,' they have now which tends to get boring.

Jazz is the music I associate with the night, particularly the early hours of the morning.

Listening to jazz reminds me of tiny smoky basement clubs. It reminds me of sitting and drinking bourbon all night and listening to music until the sun came up and everybody had to leave. I recall standing in small huddles in the freezing cold, shivering, trying to get a cab home.

This is some of the best jazz I have ever heard. It reminds me of the night:

Kind of Blue Ė Miles Davis

A Love Supreme by John Coltrane

Saxophone Colossus by Sonny Rollins

The Shape of Jazz to Come by Ornette Coleman

Blue Train by John Coltrane

The other music, which reminds me of the night is blues. I never associate blues with the daytime. Itís always played at night in dingy clubs. It is great bourbon and cigarette music.

Spike Driver Blues by John Hurt

Highway 61 by Fred McDowell

Here you go, a soundtrack song for 600C. Just another one for a walk out on the night path.
