Social Darwinism is a bit of a different animal than actual evolutionary theory. In actual evolution it is the ability to dominate a given niche' that equals survival. Mold is not very 'mighty' but it can thrive in environments that few other living things can. Fungus is so mighty in it's niche that it can even thrive on the ultimate top predator - man. Despite our efforts, man has yet to dominate athlete's foot, jock itch or toenail fungus. Might is Right indeed!
