Stuff like this has been said since the 90's. People have a love/hate relationship with that decade. We've already experienced a return of all the fadish clothing, jewelry, music, and films. The 90's even had a second panic.

As a result, Motley Crue's "Shout at the Devil" went 4x Platinum in 97' source

American Satan seems to want to tap some of that in 2017. The genre doesn't appear to be retired at this stage.

I think some of the panic had to do with the rising popularity of crap music like N'sync, the backstreet boys and Brittney spears. Perhaps "Shouting at the Devil" was an unconscious appeal to save us from shitty music! XD

Black Sabbath song is infamous about the tritone. Either you're utterly inexperienced or intentionally agnostic. Above all these, the tritone was intentionally chosen due to the musical impact, yet drawn a lots of attention.

I'd say a bit of both. Astute observation.

Carry on.
