Use the above link to figure out what time it is in the world. Now no one should have the "I dunno what time it is in EST".

There is no link. You need to be on myspace, facebook, etc. You need to have the Zynga poker app. We will announce when a table has been set up. Then you just need to log in and find us and join.

The game continues to evolve. You won't get rich quick just by reading a book and playing a few hands. Some of the most skilled veterans that have been at this for 20 years fail to make final tables now. My recommendation is to play numerous hands online, for money, and mix in some live games. You will get a blend of situations and can build on that. Don't expect to make suitcases full of money though. That will come with seeing millions of hands and time. I'm still trying.

What I also do is watch late night poker tournaments on television. I suppose you got them there too but here it is only on TV since short. Last year poker was close to non-existent, today we got it on 3 or 4 channels. The way they play and the comments on it are insightful.

That, and playing online doesn't make me the best player but it sure stops me from being the worst.

Keep in mind what you see on tv has been severely edited. They only show the interesting hands. Aces getting beaten by Jack 10. The commentary is then dubbed in after they have selected how that particular program is going to run. They just finished a tournament in Atlantic City. I followed along by reading a daily blog. The main event took 5 days and up to 14 hours a day to play. Now you have to edit 14 hours down to one hour of highlights. What you don't get to see is the hundereds of hands that got folded around to the big blind. You also don't get to see the guy that has figured out what the guy sitting 2 seats away from him is up to, and how he begins to set him up to take a large amount of chips from him. The "omg I can't believe he laid that hand down" play that you see on tv was a result of this strategy being played out over hours.

Don't get me wrong. Some of these programs really do have something to offer. Yes they can be another tool in your box to improve play. But it should be a very minor part of that tool box. I really like "Poker After Dark". It's like a friendly(or sometimes not so friendly) home game with the heavy hitters of poker as guests. They talk about past games. Talk about golfing. Laugh at each other. Once in a while, one will leave the table to talk to the hostess and relate what's going through his head, why he did something, or why another player did what he did. A really good show.

Yeah I know it is edited but it's the best we got, there are no other programs. Poker is not a part of our culture and the only use of those shows is try to get people into playing online, the advertising is more than obvious, but I try to get out of it what I can.

There has been some renewed interest in reviving this. Myspace/Facebook/Zynga is still tweeking the site, so private tables are not an option. But if anyone wants to get together on a public table, that would be swell. Last night, myself, Morgan, and Asmedious met up. Ringmaster mentioned a weekend game this weekend. I would like to get as many members as possible from this site that want to play at a table. Try to coordinate this again? Zeph? Wanna play?

Unfortunately I work weekend night at this time, so i probably couldn't make that.

I did enjoy the game last night on MY Space poker, although evertime I attempted to raise, the system folded my hand for some reason. Which is why morgan beat me on that last large hand with two pair, when I had three F&(%*$ing KINGS!!

Not sure why it would do that. Maybe user error? Or an excuse? Lol. Just jabbing at you.

Myspace poker locks up sometimes. I have had the stupid game fold my hands when I didn't want it to. The same with the raises. I think its a fucking time delay issue for some reason. Its a cheap free site, and kinda sucky, thats why I mostly play at pokerstars.
Tonight and sunday, I can't play, but maybe next week.

I logged on to Zynga last night to play. They have changed the site around, AGAIN. There is no longer the option for a private table. So to make this work, we would have to set a time and date, and anyone interested would have to buddy search to find the table someone is playing at. Even then, there is no guarantee that you would be able to sit at that table.

I know Full Tilt dot Net has an option for creating private tables, and it is a free site only. All you have to do is create an account and you get 4000 chips(I think). If you go to fulltilt.com that is a money site. I am not familiar with the other sites I use, as I only play for money on them.

So, it looks like either we announce in advance when we will be playing on Myspace/Facebook and look for each other, or create accounts on Full Tilt or another site. If anyone would like to donate to me, feel froggie to make a deposit to a cash site and let me know your user name. If your game is strong, maybe I'll be donating to you.

I have to drive to Nashville today to pick up my sister-in-law at the airport, but I'll see about setting up an account and maybe be able to sit in on some poker in the near future. Some of them used to be unaccessible on a Mac, so that might limit where I can get in to as a player.
