It's the same here. Although I have cable, half of it I never watch but pay at the same time. Do I want something else, I need to take a package deal.
Still what bothers me most is that on too many channels, I can't watch for longer than 20 minutes before I am interupted by a commercial break, followed by a presentation of the next program, some programs for the following day and the great stuff that's gonna be on during the weekend before I can watch the next part. Like that series last as long as movies.
I prefer no interruptions, I'm a grown man, I can hold it up thank you. And even if, nowadays I can take a piss, a shit, shave and have a shower too during those breaks.

I don't find that cartoon at all funny. It annoys me. And why is that? I personally like it for the music. I'm not much one for Death Metal but I really like Dethklok. I really enjoy the musical performances, where they play and perform. The hair spins and timing on everything is so perfect and amusing to watch. Maybe you just have to mellow out a bit?.. I could understand you not finding it funny, but to let a silly cartoon annoy you seems pointless to me. ~Snow~.
The music is fine, it's everything else that bothers me.
For example, the way they speak, the sound of their voices, for some reason it just bothers me; that pretty much ruins everything else for me.
Perhaps, I do need to mellow out a bit. What can I say? I can be an uptight young lady sometimes. I'm a control freak, so if things do not go as I planned (or hoped), I get annoyed.

You do realise that the cartoon is just a parody of the metal-head stereotype, don't you? Personally, I think it's fucking hilarious, but that's just me really.

I have a DVR so commercials are a push of the button for me.
This being said, I watch: Dexter (Online, and I am current.) Futurama (Only the episodes I havent seen, which I can count on two hands) Mythbusters (Again, only episodes I have not seen, and the current stuff.) How its Made. (Great show, I recommend it.) Tipe Warp (See How its Made) Prototype This (Jury is still out on this one.) Star Trek: TNG (Cause I grew up with it) Star Trek: Voyager (Same as above.) Metalocaylpse (Too funny not to watch.) Ani-Monday on Sci-Fi And Anime on G4 when I catch it.
That about sums it up. Funny thing is, though, that I watch maybe half a dozen of the 200+ channels I have to pay for, its kind of ridiculous.

I've replied before, but recently a new channel has been added to Austrlaian Pay TV (or Foxtel) called Showcase, which has been awesome.
It only has ads between shows, so no annoying interruptions and has art house movies (Like little miss sunshine etc) and great series.
Two of the best ones I have seen lately have been
Breaking Bad - I LOVE this show. I can relate alot to the character (having secondary lung cancer myself) and wanting to leave a legacy of love, education and money to my children. I'm also working on a video series for them to watch (why do we still say video, when really it's DVD?) oops, I digress.
Breaking Bad's premise is that a chemistry teacher dying from lung cancer, becomes an Ice/Meth manufacturer to make some dough to leave his handicapped teenage son and pregnant again wife.
Because it's not all that easy to just become a cook overnight (well getting ingrediants and selling the product anyway, he has the chem part down pat), it changes him into more of a man. He goes from being a bit of a nerdy loser, to quite a ballsy guy.
Having nothing to lose does change your outlook on alot of things.
Another show on showcase that I really like is The Riches. Maybe it's the two lead characters being english, or just that it's funny I don't really know, but I enjoy the show alot.
Another quite good show (which was actually an Australian Production) they also played was Satisfaction, set in a Melbourne brothel (they are legal in Melbourne) about the girls and their famalies and lives. Not so much about the customers, more about the girls and from what I've seen of the industry (having worked in a similar one as a dancer) quite true to life. Except all the girls are stunning and don't take drugs, which is really only a very small minority of girls in the industry from what I've seen. Although in saying that, it seems in Melbourne at least, alot of University Students have taken up this line of work to pay for their living whils they study law whatever.
Anyway, would love to hear from anyone else that have seen and enjoyed either of these three shows.
