When I don't have any academic projects hanging over my head...
Colbert Report Family Guy Heroes Daily Show Torchwood Scrubs
Pretty much in that order. Most via my computer while I'm cycling or on the treadmill.

I love Casualty. It's basically a UK version of ER, which demonstrates nicely the problems with our NHS.
As for transatlantic imports - South Park is pretty fucking hilarious. It can be quite insightful too at times. I loved the movie Bigger, Longer and Uncut (released back in '99 so a bit dated now) - I still count it high up on my list of all-time favorites. It really turned swearing into an art...

T.V.?
That's that ugly screen in the living room yea?
The one that old people and kids sit around drooling at?
Never got into it. .
Although Australia has a few unique shows i used to dig.
CNNNN (A parody of CNN - fucking funny too, if a little soft, but meh, they've got to stay on air)
It's spin off, Chasers War On Everything. (These are the guys that got passed the security perimeter during the recent AIPAC meeting in Oz, dressed as Osama Bin Laden - you might have heard about it).
And way before that there was a show called John Saffran's Musical Jamboree. Hilariously subversive show pitched as a behind the scenes music program.
I used to watch Rowan Atkinson's Blackadder too.
And The Office as well. That was really good. The American version is terrible. The British original was great.
Well worth punching in the first three into You Tube for those non Aussies; CNNNN, Chasers War On Everything and Musical Jamboree or just John Saffran.
Pretty crazy TV.

Atkinson was pretty funny in Mr Bean.
I enjoy British comedy as well as the transatlantic kind. 'Bottom' is/was a hilarious show - very crude too. Lots of 'nut cracking' slapstick. A live show of theirs was based around a plan to seduce the Queen

The movie version of Bottom, 'Guest House Paradiso', featured a very un-PC comment about the late Princess Diana.
Caused quite an uproar I believe

TV. Im not big on the TV and spend the majority of my time on the internet.
But I do watch
For new shows.
LOST House Hells Kitchen Boston Legal
But I truly believe most modern shows are moronic crap, and so I collect and often watch classics on DVD like;

dude star Trek was the shit.... This offered what? Why was Star Trek the shit? Why is 7 of 9 hot? These statements could have been sent via the private message feature available in My Stuff. One liners are frowned upon here. If you can't tell us why something is the shit or hot, keep it private.

I'm a TV Whore. Yes, that's right, I said it. I am not ashamed.
Here is what I like to watch:
The Colbert Report Talk Sex with Sue Johanson (Unfortunately, she has retired. I miss her.) Family Guy Bleach South Park What Not To Wear (I've learned so many tips.) Nip/Tuck Dirt House Bizarre Foods with Andrew (Can't remember his last name) Tyra Banks Show (If all other shows are not on, I watch her show, but sometimes she can be very annoying, so I turn off the TV and sleep.) LA Ink/ Miami Ink Spongebob Squarepants (I need to satisfy the child within me.)

Some of my favourite TV shows:
Columbo (this is bordering on obsession) South Park Blackadder Red Dwarf Twin Peaks The L Word The Tudors Cracker (another bordering on obsession) Any psychological thriller type things Most adaptations of decent novels America's (or anywhere elses) Next Top Model Project Runway Brasseye The Larry Sanders Show
I used to love Coronation Street but alas I can't watch it here
Yes, I'm a TV junkie. I've heard it rots the brain but interestingly (to me anyway) the people I've met who brag about not watching TV for this very reason are often a bit stupid.

i never watch tv, not because I don't like it at all, but mostly because my real life is so much more entertaining.
I watched the Sopranos on video and I watched Metalocalypse, that's about it. PBS sometimes has kids shows on so I watch those by proxy, I enjoyed Sagwa when it was on, cute cats to feed my cute cartoon fixation....
I havn't really sat down and watched tv in 6 months though....i only go to the theatre because a family member gets free tickets and the kids love movies...
I've definately seen Tv that makes me hate tv...it gets so boring and neurotic.

Talk Sex with Sue Johanson (Unfortunately, she has retired. I miss her.) Loved that show watched it randomly when I had a case of insomnia. Unfortunaly t.v. isn't my thing I prefer movies because the haji's over here in Iraq own little movie shops with movies for like 2-3 bucks or a disc with like 5-8 movies for 5 bucks. at that price I can't pass that shit up. They got shit from t.v. so I'll watch 24, family guy, shit like that but as for the kid in my Ed, Edd, and Eddy.

But.. I love to stay up all night, with the rest of my older friends to wait for Spongbob. :(..
Have you heard the rumour of Dethklok's music being produced by one guy.. Then two guys... Multiple times I've had to slap someone upside the head, and tell them to stop arguing, and look the shit up before they bother me.. -.-
They've definetly gone far, there are more vids of the cartoon playing songs on youtube then there are actual episodes.. Or rather, there were.. They apparently had to all be deleted because of copyright infringments? Apparently they were getting so popular, it became a problem.. Lol.. Now you can listen to the music, but without the awesome clips to go with it. You can even now, find doanloads of there music.
My personal favorite song is Mermaider, I love the stop and go lines.. "Axe Check.. Vengeance Check". Although, I'd have to say, with the video to go with it, Fan Song is pretty awesome with it's perfect timing hairspins and flashy clips, and play on the drum kit display.
~Snow~.

It's the same here. Although I have cable, half of it I never watch but pay at the same time. Do I want something else, I need to take a package deal.
Still what bothers me most is that on too many channels, I can't watch for longer than 20 minutes before I am interupted by a commercial break, followed by a presentation of the next program, some programs for the following day and the great stuff that's gonna be on during the weekend before I can watch the next part. Like that series last as long as movies.
I prefer no interruptions, I'm a grown man, I can hold it up thank you. And even if, nowadays I can take a piss, a shit, shave and have a shower too during those breaks.

I don't find that cartoon at all funny. It annoys me. And why is that? I personally like it for the music. I'm not much one for Death Metal but I really like Dethklok. I really enjoy the musical performances, where they play and perform. The hair spins and timing on everything is so perfect and amusing to watch. Maybe you just have to mellow out a bit?.. I could understand you not finding it funny, but to let a silly cartoon annoy you seems pointless to me. ~Snow~.
The music is fine, it's everything else that bothers me.
For example, the way they speak, the sound of their voices, for some reason it just bothers me; that pretty much ruins everything else for me.
Perhaps, I do need to mellow out a bit. What can I say? I can be an uptight young lady sometimes. I'm a control freak, so if things do not go as I planned (or hoped), I get annoyed.

You do realise that the cartoon is just a parody of the metal-head stereotype, don't you? Personally, I think it's fucking hilarious, but that's just me really.

I have a DVR so commercials are a push of the button for me.
This being said, I watch: Dexter (Online, and I am current.) Futurama (Only the episodes I havent seen, which I can count on two hands) Mythbusters (Again, only episodes I have not seen, and the current stuff.) How its Made. (Great show, I recommend it.) Tipe Warp (See How its Made) Prototype This (Jury is still out on this one.) Star Trek: TNG (Cause I grew up with it) Star Trek: Voyager (Same as above.) Metalocaylpse (Too funny not to watch.) Ani-Monday on Sci-Fi And Anime on G4 when I catch it.
That about sums it up. Funny thing is, though, that I watch maybe half a dozen of the 200+ channels I have to pay for, its kind of ridiculous.

I've replied before, but recently a new channel has been added to Austrlaian Pay TV (or Foxtel) called Showcase, which has been awesome.
It only has ads between shows, so no annoying interruptions and has art house movies (Like little miss sunshine etc) and great series.
Two of the best ones I have seen lately have been
Breaking Bad - I LOVE this show. I can relate alot to the character (having secondary lung cancer myself) and wanting to leave a legacy of love, education and money to my children. I'm also working on a video series for them to watch (why do we still say video, when really it's DVD?) oops, I digress.
Breaking Bad's premise is that a chemistry teacher dying from lung cancer, becomes an Ice/Meth manufacturer to make some dough to leave his handicapped teenage son and pregnant again wife.
Because it's not all that easy to just become a cook overnight (well getting ingrediants and selling the product anyway, he has the chem part down pat), it changes him into more of a man. He goes from being a bit of a nerdy loser, to quite a ballsy guy.
Having nothing to lose does change your outlook on alot of things.
Another show on showcase that I really like is The Riches. Maybe it's the two lead characters being english, or just that it's funny I don't really know, but I enjoy the show alot.
Another quite good show (which was actually an Australian Production) they also played was Satisfaction, set in a Melbourne brothel (they are legal in Melbourne) about the girls and their famalies and lives. Not so much about the customers, more about the girls and from what I've seen of the industry (having worked in a similar one as a dancer) quite true to life. Except all the girls are stunning and don't take drugs, which is really only a very small minority of girls in the industry from what I've seen. Although in saying that, it seems in Melbourne at least, alot of University Students have taken up this line of work to pay for their living whils they study law whatever.
Anyway, would love to hear from anyone else that have seen and enjoyed either of these three shows.
Zeph

I don't own a television.
I guess I shouldn't be posting on this thread then? Ok so let me ask you this... Do you own an entertainment system to watch movies on? Do you ever watch movies or any TV series either streaming on the internet or by downloading them onto your computer?
Also do you go out to the movies at all?
Peace

Years ago, I went into a store with a woman I was dating in a strange mood. When we got to the counter, I had some condoms, some wine and cheese and a big tube of KY. We went to the check out counter and the checker looked like she was having a bad day.
I asked the woman if I could get a price check on the big tube of KY. Dutifully, she announced a price check over the store's speakers, turning a little red. The I asked her if they had AstroLube instead of KY, because it made anal so much easier and she sputtered, "I don't know, sir," turning redder still. As he was finishing ringing up my purchases, I asked her if she was alone for the evening. She gave me an emphatic, "NO!!: So I asked her if her husband was available and she finally cracked up, laughing, and said, "I know!! I'm on Candid Camera!!!"
About that time I noticed that my lady friend had left the store and was standing next to the car.

reality occurs when you are able to set foot on the ground and be one with the animals, hearing every sound, smelling every smell etc.. Very wise words! I know what you are talking about. Well.. at least till the "deer hunting" part. Anyway, indeed I'm always feeling better when doing a good walk in the wild nature.

I'm all over the place. I watch way more tv than I should. Among the shows I watch:
Anything poker related. High Stakes Poker, WPT, Poker Stars Invitational, WSOP, Learn From the Pros, and Poker After Dark.
I also love poker but most of it screened in Australia is on digital or pay TV, and I have neither.
I love the clips I've seen of High Stakes Poker. As well as the big stacks of chips going back and forth there are guys throwing huge wads of cash on the table! Very cool.
My all-time top ten would go something like this. It's in no particular order (except for the first one.) I've decided to keep the music-related shows seperate. I may get to them later.
1. Monty Python's Flying Circus 2. Get Smart 3. X-files (First 3 seasons- awesome. 4th season- very good. 8th and 9th season- the non-conspiracy episodes were good. 5th, 6th and 7th seasons- execrable.) 4. Odysseus: The Greatest Hero Of Them All (Tony Robbins re-tells the great stories from The Iliad and The Odyssey. This show was one of the things that fuelled my childhood love of mythology. I still adore it!) 5. Astro Boy (thank bloody goodness I didn't forget this!) 6. Neon Genesis Evangelion (the first anime series I fell in love with when I could understand the culture behind anime.) 7. Cowboy Bebop (my favourite anime series) 8. Buffy The Vampire Slayer 9. Angel (I know it was SUPPOSED to be silly, but it got too much so after a while.) 10. WWF Superstars ( I watched it in the late 90s, when hardcore elements began to be introduced. I don't like what the WWE offers today much at all- too much fucking furniture.)

Anything about the universe. And I watch comedy central almost religiously. Love the skewering they do on the news. And I enjoy watching the oil come into the gulf. But mostly I am online writing something.

You do?
And why is that? I have a feeling that this comment, like many of your others, is a cheap ploy to elicit a response, but I'll play this time. What do you enjoy about "watching the oil come into the gulf" and why?

I normally don't care much for TV, but both Spartacus and The Walking Dead have caught my eye. I've only seen each one once or twice, and I can't imagine I will be going out of my way to be in front of the idiot box when they come on, but if I find myself on my couch and happen to click by I will probably stop and watch.
I have to tell you, I won't go out of my way to find a new show on TV but this one caught my eye this winter and I've been hooked. The Blood and Sand series drew me in completely. Watching Batiatus' desires, drive and devotion to grow his empire play out gives the feeling of what the Roman ruled times were like. You can't help but root for a man so purely driven. And yet you hold hope for someone to get his revenge as well on the very character you are rooting for. It's bitter sweet and from what I've read of that time frame of the Roman Empires, this is a very close depiction of that history.
As much as I liked the first series, the second is a prequel, Gods of the Arena, and seems to hold the same interest. It shows how Batiatus got to where he was in the first series, as well as his gladiators. I didn't know if I'd like it as much, but it's definitely kept my interest so far.
My oldest saw me watching one of the Blood and Sand series one night and ended up sitting and watching it with me. He's hooked as well. It's kind of funny to watch his face from time to time because the show really does depict the Roman times. Slaves are kept topless, male and female alike, along with them being completely at the mercy of their masters, no matter what. Sex is not taboo in any way, shape or form, so there are people doing what they wish, wherever they wish, and to whomever they wish. Hell, the story line is completely desire driven, politically, monetarily, sexually, and more. He'll get a look of "What the fuck?!" on his face and then ask me if Roman times really were like that. I've told him, from everything I've read, that's what it was like, to a "T". Advancement in the society was had through any means necessary. It's been interesting to watch, that's for sure.
I haven't had much of a chance to check out The Walking Dead but think I might see where the new series Camelot on Starz goes. It too looks like it could get fairly interesting.
**Didn't mean to give an actual review of the show, but it really is that good.

I used to watch Steve Irwin but then he died. Now I don't bother with T.V. For years. I watch lots of nature programs online or some science documentaries about the holographic universe, chaos theory, cosmology etc.
Films would be Bruce Lee, black comedy, Samurai movies, and non pretentious psychological movies like Silence of the Lambs 1, the Shining, Let the Right One In, Old Boy, Natural Born Killers, and also Braveheart. I don't really know any others because I haven't looked for any T.V. or films since I went into reclusive hermit mode with my studies and have gone quite mad to some. Maybe I'll watch a comedy.

I FEAR NOT MY MORTALITY FOR I AM JUST ANOTHER GEAR IN THE KLOK! DIE FOR DETHKLOK!! Sorry for the obnoxiosness but I really am a Metalocalypse fanatic.
And I'm told I have the best Dr. Rockso impersonation.
You must do a lot of cocaine then.
Metalocalypse is a great show. Deadliest Warrior and Fight Science are also great shows. Family Guy, futurama and American Dad, other then those few, I don't watch much TV.
