I got this little ditty of an email.

1. To remove a bandage painlessly, saturate the bandage with vodka. The stuff dissolves adhesive.

2. To clean the caulking around bathtubs and showers, fill a trigger-spray bottle with vodka, spray the caulking, let set five minutes and wash clean.

The alcohol in the vodka kills mold and mildew.

3. To clean your eyeglasses, simply wipe the lenses with a soft, clean cloth dampened with vodka.
The alcohol in the vodka cleans the glass and kills germs.

4. Prolong the life of razors by filling a cup with vodka and letting your safety razor blade soak in the alcohol after shaving.

The vodka disinfects the blade and prevents rusting.

5. Spray vodka on wine stains, scrub with a brush, and then blot dry

6. Using a cotton ball, apply vodka to your face as an astringent to cleanse the skin and tighten pores.

7. Add a jigger of vodka to a 12-ounce bottle of shampoo.
The alcohol cleanses the scalp, removes toxins from hair, and stimulates the growth of healthy hair.

8. Fill a sixteen-ounce trigger-spray bottle with vodka and spray bees or wasps to kill them.

9 Pour one-half cup vodka and one-half cup water into a Ziploc freezer bag and freeze for a slushy, refreshing ice pack for aches, pain or black eyes.

10. Fill a clean, used mayonnaise jar with freshly packed lavender flowers. Fill the jar with vodka, seal the lid tightly and set in the sun for three days. Strain liquid through a coffee filter, then apply the tincture to aches and pains.

11. To relieve a fever, use a washcloth to rub vodka on your chest and back as a liniment.

12. To cure foot odor, wash your feet with vodka.

13 Vodka will disinfect and alleviate a jellyfish sting.

14. Pour vodka over an area affected with poison ivy to remove the urushiol oil from your skin.

15. Swish a shot of vodka over an aching tooth. Allow your gums to absorb some of the alcohol to numb the pain.

"Pour one-half cup vodka and one-half cup water into a Ziploc freezer bag and freeze for a slushy, refreshing ice pack for aches, pain or black eyes."

I'm supposed to drink it right or should I make two? That made my laugh a slushy, refreshing ice pack to relieve aches and pains...

Wow Fakepropht, I knew there was a reason why Vodka is my poison of choice...

This is fantastic- running through all the ailments that it is good for, I feel that I can throw out half the contents of my medicine chest and replace it with vodka!

Seriously though, there are some great tips here that I'm going to jot down for future reference, especially the one about swishing vodka around an aching tooth..

I really wish that I'd known about that one last week- I wouldn't have taken all those Panadiene Forte and ended up as constipated as I was.

I'm doing the Vodka thing next time.

Just make sure you're using the cheap shit for all that. I wouldn't waste my good stock on cleaning my lenses (rubbing or denatured alcohol will do--trust me!).

Although I wish I'd known about the vodka remedy when I had a nasty batch of poison ivy on the top of my foot. I found that puncturing the "boils" filled with fluid and dousing them with rubbing alcohol worked wonders at clearing that shit up.

LOL! When I first started going out to the Black House, LaVey told me that he liked to drink frozen Stoly (Stolychnaya Vodka - 100 Proof). Not being a drinker, I brought him a bottle whenever I would go. Eventually, he told me, "Jake, I like vodka once in a while... I don't bathe in it."

But in hindsight... maybe he should've.

Otherwise, great tips, especially about the alleviation of the "jellyfish" sting, and poison ivy... I wonder if it would work for other things... poison oak, skunk sprays, head lice... seems like it would.

Just a quick one to let evryone know that I tried the "Vodka face toner" tip, and it really works!
Fantastic pore-tightening qualities, and the skin under my eyes even feels tighter- definitely one for the ladies...

I'll stop now, I'm starting to sound like a paid presentation.

How about a Vodka and Tonic enema?

That way, you get the cool, refreshing fizzy sensation without the calories... ;\)

But they will perk up your sphincter muscle, and make your butthole look years younger... not to mention the kinda drunk you could get from doing that shit.

Moral of the story... if you do bathe in Vodka... keep your butt cheeks together.

Yeah, apparently I'm "Daevil" - not sure how I feel about it yet, I'll "try it on", and see how it goes.

Maybe that's why the term "Drunk-ass" was coined...

I think that the name Daevil totally suits you (in a good way of course!)

Anyhoo, must be off to the Bottle-shop to stock up on some fine Vodka for tonight's impending festivities...

I'll take your advice Daevil, and keep my butt cheeks firmly clenched.

Actually, tonic has as many calories as fanta. Soda water is the one that hasn't the calories. ;-)

It seems one fluid ounce of 80 proof vodka has 64 calories itself not counting soda or seltzer... It also contains .3 mg of sodium and potassium...

My question is would calories even count when we are talking about an enema? ;\)

Only when you drank it. But you would experience a temporary weight gain while the enema was inside. Wonder what kind of chaser would go with used Vodka enema.

Perhaps a bloody Mary "pucker" with a twist of lemon or a bloody Mary "browneye" with a dash of A1... Both of course made with reclaimed vodka...

I enjoy drinking Smirnoff Vodka with grapefruit juice. The sensation rivals that of other alcohol mixtures. I drink for the effect: a relaxation of all stress that I'm under.

I don't drink excessively, but in moderation. I know of all the health benefits from keeping my vessels wide open to preventing cancer. 'Here's to you.'

Vodka is also good in keeping you warm when it is cold. Now I know some wills ay all alcohol is, but I swear by vodka \:\)

I am sure that there are many other ways to use vodka.

I am not sure I would try bathing in it or giving an enema, but I have heard of alcohol enemas.

I have heard what you mentioned before you saying something. I meant the first initial response. Of course, if you get to tipsy and head off into a snow bank you are going to freeze to death, but then I think a person would anyway if left there to long.

Alcohol speeds the process, but makes no difference in if a person lives or dies if they are there for more than a reasonable amount of time.

That is why I never drink to much.

The best way of keeping warm by vodka is lighting it up and using the flame to warm yourself with. I'm mildly puzzled why you did not choose this glaringly obvious alternative, as it avoids the less desirable effects described above by Mawhrin-Skel. Other uses for vodka include emergency disinfectant, paint removal, and Molotov cocktail for home-defence purposes. Detergent-laced gasoline would be your first choice for the latter, though, since ethanol burns at a pretty low temperature. But still enough to keep your mitts warm and your cocoa hot.

That said, I've been on the vodka-wagon in Minsk with a serious customer (at least vodka-wise), and I suppose it had its charm.

I recently discovered a brand of vodka called Bakon. Yes, it is bacon flavored vodka but it tastes horrible, more like ass bacon. I did find one thing that it mixes well with: Bloody Mary mix. I named that drink BBQ Sauce, because that is what it tastes like.

Yeah 80 billion people have gotten this email that's been going around forever, I think Myth Busters even did a show on it.

But it could be expensive to use that much vodka. Also, even though some say vodka has no smell, it is just not as smelly as gin.

If you start washing your face and your hair with vodka, soaking your feet in it, and using it as mouthwash you will probably get taken in a few times for DUI or get hassled more by cops, then you will have to hire a lawyer.

Can you imagine the lawyer showing the judge this email as your defense, saying my client bathes in vodka? \:D

Especially if you start using it to take the wine stains off your clothes!!!LOL!!!

It also makes a very very good weapon! Ever here of the Moltov Cocktail?? Which is why after you get done using the vodka as a facial astringent and taking a bath in it, you should probably wait a good deal for it to dry before lighting that cigarette!

but in my opinion, it's just a waste of good alcohol.

Speaking (sort of) of vodka. Have anyone done vodka the cossack way? It involves one or more large peppers, one or more bottles of vodka and a group of friends - preferrably trusty fellows that will join you in cleaning up the day after.

Hollow out a sizeable pepper and top it up with vodka. Take a bite of the pepper and drink what slops out. The goal is not to spill. Pass the pepper along to the next. Repeat, until you run of of peppers, vodka or brain-cells. Spills could be punished good-naturedly with sports such as this.
