I saw part of this show last night on pbs. I thought it was very well done and informative. I looked it up and I didn't see it repeating again this week by me, but a different episode in the same subject matter will be airing next sunday. I was unfamiliar with a man they mentioned, Baron D'Holbach, and plan on looking more into his stuff as well as reading up again on Hume.
The reemergence of Atheism during the 15th- and 16th centuries is detailed. Included: how division within the Church fed disbelief. Also: a visit to 18th-century Atheist Baron d'Holbach's Paris home; the dangers of undermining religion.
