I'm also from the South and I began drooling over a few of these recipes. My parents and I are going to grow another garden this Spring. Looks like I now have a few new ideas! Fried Green Tomatoes are bliss!
It may sound odd, but fried eggplant is VERY good, especially with horseradish sauce. Same goes for fried pickles and fried mushrooms! Has anyone tried fried candy bars? At first it sounded disgusting but I watched a show on Travel channel about it...it didn't look too bad.
I usually try to stay away from fried food, it being unhealthy and all. But hell, you only live once! gotta have a bit of soul.
