Sorry, more complaints...

Now, when I try to enter Chat, I get "$aasoutput" and a blank white screen.

What does it mean? What does it mean???!!!

Okay, I fixed it... and hey, thanks everyone for chiming in all at once - great help. Whatever the fuck "$assoutput" meant, it doesn't matter anymore.

Gracias.

lol, sorry daevid.

I know that the $assoutput variable is set in the template, but every browser I tried to replicate the error on, turned nothing up. What did you do to fix it?

Hi Rick,

It was stupid... I upgraded to Internet Explorer 7 (bad idea, I think), and I believe the new "security features" disabled Java... all I really had to do was "enable" it again...

Sometimes the simplest things...

Thanks for the response anyway.

DAvid.

IE is evil, and not in the "good" way that we all are \:D

So many people I know have upgraded to IE7 and regretted it. They actually go back to IE6. It may not be as "secure" (this IS microsoft we're talking about--their idea of security runs parallel to having "Keep Out" signs posted on the US/Mexican border with no fence to be seen), but it gives them a hell of a lot fewer problems.

Have you tried other browsers like Firefox and Opera? I haven't come across any of the problems some people claim they have, especially concerning viewing certain websites. The only one I have trouble with (using Opera) is when I try to watch videos on msn.com. So I just don't go there :P

I get the message "error connecting to the server. please try again later." As far as I know I have the latest Java updates and I am using IE 7.0. Any ideas? Perhaps my firewall?

Firewall might be the problem. Try disabling it and see if it still gives you an error.

How about "Norton Internet Security"? Anyone tried this piece of crap? I always have difficulty posting when I install, and I especially have problems with pornography, which is of great detriment to my being...

Anyone know how to configure this beast? At least as far as the 600club is concerned?

The main thing is that your security settings allow you to accept cookies in your browser. You should be able to set that in "preferences" for your security software, or under "security" in your browser.

And yet another Chat fix....

I run IE7 and I like it in general. However, it's ActiveX security settings suck and it was preventing me from loading the Java plugin. Here is how I fixed it:

Use Firefox (free download) and login to this site.

Open the Chat Room.

When propted, load the ActiveX control.

Java will pop up and ask to load a Java plugin.

Download the Java plugin. Hit Run, and install it.

Close out chat.

Open chat. The Java Chat window will open. You may need to close it and open it one more time. Chat should work.

You will then have the correct Java plugins and ActiveX controls to use Chat.

Now Chat will work in IE7.

Hi Xear,

I really like the chat software, especially the 'sounds' applet.

Would it be possible to find and add some new sounds into this area? I'm happy to do the searching for you if need be, but obviously I can't load them (or can I)?

Anyway some suggested sounds to enhance our experience would be a kiss sound *mwah* and maybe a rasberry type sound. Also maybe a skulling sound, you know like drinking a shot of alcohol. Lets think a *gulp* that would be I guess. Actually two gulps, one denoting nervousness and one denoting drinking would be good.

About the new chat room...
Any possibility of making it exclusive for the 600 club?
I'm sitting right now between some "guests" whom are quite idiotic.
I might see some disturbance in future conferences or chatsessions between "official" members if there are people "from the outside" who can log in and disturb conversations.

One can make separate rooms and password protect them. Moronic guests and converters always have been part of the old clubchat, see it as a good exercise in either ignoring people or flaming them.
