Heard about this a good while ago and it originally sounded decent enough. It kind of reminded me of the Prophecy movies....then I saw the trailer(posted below).Probably be abit of fun but more than likely a giant steaming turd that will follow you around for a few days.
Was just wondering what other people think of it.For me it looks like The Prophecy meets Rambo meets Dawn of the Dead.Favourite part for me has to be guy firing a bazooka into a shit load of angels.
Check out the trailer, but be warned if you might genuinely have an interest in seeing this, its basically shows the whole movie compressed into about 3 mins.

So at first I was like "geez, another lame angels vs. demons schtick", but after watching the trailer, it got me hooked. (Plus it has Juno Reactor in the background.)

It gave me serious Gnostic vibes, in that the basic premise is that God (the Demiurge) loses faith in his creation and sends hordes of demonic angels (archons) to kill off humanity. The only hope for mankind is the birth of the new messiah (Christ, Emanation of Sophia).

I'll be sure to give it a look-see in the moving-picture-theater.

Thanks, I looked at the trailer, it's pretty cool.

A few things though, to think about.

If god wants humans dead, wouldn't satan want them alive?
It mentions the child will save them, but who is the father of it? She sure as hell isn't a virgin.
I think Michael tried to kill satan/dragon last time, but maybe he switched sides since he is going against god's will now?

Would be interesting if the savior of mankind turned out to be satan's offspring, and his protector is a rogue angel who tried to kill his dad.

A violent, willing, end of world, rosemary baby kinda thing.

Hollywood must have been stoned when they signed off on it.

That's hilarious. Not only would that be interesting, but really awesome.

Finally got to see this movie and I was....less than impressed with it, shall we say. It was like a zombie movie, combined with Terminator 2 with an Apocalyptic garnish. While that all sounds great on paper, it left me with a "meh". I think it tried to accomplish too much, and in the end made for a very typical movie. The special effects were pretty good, Dennis Quaid has his moments, and I liked the throwdown between Michael and Gabriel, but that was about it.

At the end, I kept expecting to hear the voice of Sarah Connor mention Skynet and something like, "There is no fate but what we make."

I thought about going to see it, but I keep reading reviews along the lines of yours. From what I've read, all the really good scenes are in the trailer, so that watching the trailer is almost sufficient for getting all the juice.

It's concepts like that, a fight between Michael and Gabriel, that tempt me to go see the thing.

You know, in a way it's odd that Michael was chosen for that role. Lucifer would seem a more logical choice.

It wasn't a bad movie, it just didn't quite live up to the lofty expectations of those who'd been waiting patiently to see it. I thought it was decent.

I thought it was a stunningly average movie.

I'm a bit of a Christian lore enthusiast and I was a bit disappointed that it strayed so far from the mainstream Xtian mythology. Michael kept being referred to as the "rebellious son", which is funny since he, allegedly, was the only angel in his particular order of angels who didn't rebel during Satan's insurrection.

Also, they kind of made Gabriel out to be a human hating dick, which is strange since, according to Xtian and Muslim tradition, Gabriel is God's go-between for the human race.

I've got mixed feelings about Gabe's multi-option motorized mace. Kind of sweet, kind of gay.

I was hoping for eye-candy. I got very little. Poor story with holes everywhere, effects borrowed from a dozen other horror films, and characters you could care less about. 90 minutes of my life I'm not getting back.

Well, if you want Angel beefcake, try Pygar. He had a bit of a flying problem until Barbarella came up with some therapy to get a rise out of him, as it were.

I was both thrilled that a movie like this could be made and disappointed with the lame execution. Nothing really happens beyond what you see in the trailer; it relies too much upon action and doesn't develop the characters or plot enough. The idea of a Gnostic themed film gave me goosebumps, but it ended up being subpar even by popcorn movie standards.

I saw it when it first came out. I knew I was going to hate it from the first scene after which it just got progressively worse. The "Angels" were like trailer trash with wings.

Well, the trailer was a hoot and I love the old lady! Not sure the whole thing would be that enthralling, though. What's with this obsession film-makers seem to have about the human race coming to an end, anyway? Would it really matter? OK, I'm not being totally serious but species become extinct every day. This sort of film always implies that we've been naughty boys and girls using our free will to abuse the planet and need rescuing by some divine entity in order to "learn". That itself is enough to make me puke my popcorn. \:\)

As far as the movie goes it was a total waste of time, money, and the energy it took to force myself through to the end.

And as far as the obsession I believe the recent uproar is because of the Mayan calendar Dec 2012.

Just saw it. Didn't get a theatrical release on this side of the pond so had to use the computer, cause couldn't wait for the dvd. Also avoided all reviews of it...and holy shit was it awful. I had way too high an expectation for it and it just let me down big time. before I saw it read an article where the same crew are involved with the movie adaptation of Priest, so reckoned if that was the case(as I am a big fan of Priest), then they must have done a good job on this. But, it just reminded me of a really bad film from the 80's that I loved and went back to look at 20 years later and made no sense. If I was younger maybe I wouldn't have seen the major plot flaws and would have been impressed by the boring action scenes....if ...only.

Great bad news also, they're working on a sequel at the moment...not straight to video either. Can't wait for that.
