I wasn't able to log in at all yesterday. Kept getting the message about either not being connected to the internet (which I was) or that the site I was trying to contact was unavailable.

I had a similar problem, each time I attempted to reach the site I was redirected to an error page. I also attempted useing any and all links listed with both att and Google. each time I was redirected back to a error page.
I too had the same problem. Every other page I went to worked just fine but it said this one could not be found. Maybe it was taken off down for maintanence, or some fuckhead ddos attacked the site.

Something I did notice dureing my attempts, on one of the results pages that listed http://www.600club.com, when you hovered over it a url to something called rcoverture showed up at the bottom of the browser screen...dont know if it means anything though.
I couldn't get on either.Now I might be being overly paranoid but the day before it went down, I thought I noticed a bit of unusual activity in the visitor section. There was about 6 members and 2 guests online at one point, a couple of minutes later there were over 10 guests.Now as I said I might be overly paranoid but its the first time since the new site started that I have seen this kind of activity.I have been a member on other web sites that have been either attacked or just vanished for reasons the rest of us just couldn't figure out.A few warez sites I was on were attacked by hackers and just destroyed, before they totally disappeared there were a few times that similar stoppages of the site occurred, similar to the downtime on this site the other day. Now it could just have been maintenance on the site or it may have reached its capacity and went down for a while but if this is not the case I would like to make the following suggestion. I believe that it may be in the best interest of the site to make it totally inaccessible to non members as by allowing guests to view the site, it is possible that intolerant assholes that would maybe have the ability to crash the site are gaining easier access.A site I was a member on for years relating to horror films, basically went down and the people running it were unable to get it back.The details to what exactly happened are still unclear, but it was suspected that two members that bore grudges hacked the site and wiped it.We lost years of work compiling every horror movie we could.recently some members started the site again and stricter security measures have been installed. Once again I might just be paranoid , but I do think either way if it is possible it might be a good idea to block non members.While it won't guarantee total security, I believe that it may offer some protection and better privacy for the members.
The bill wasn't paid on time, that's all. If this site were inaccessible to non-members, how would we gain new people, new blood, new perspectives? It does not serve the interests of the site to have it restricted in that way.
No prob , don't mind me. As I was saying after the other horror site I have been a bit overly paranoid about things. But fair enough I understand where you're coming from and its a relief to know the reason behind the down time.
