I'm putting this up here, because I didn't find anything on home-made wine.
It's called "food Stamps Swill" because it uses everyday items from the grocer that can be bought with food stamps (with the exception of one item, listed below), for anyone who might be suffering through the doldrums of poverty, or just don't have access to their own grape fields... Here's my recipe- it's relatively fast, it's easy, and its fun to do.
Items required: -2.5 gal. water jug. -6 cans 100% grape juice concentrate (100% works the best). -Big bag of Sugar. -Yeast. -Condom. -Funnel. -Needle.
1. Allow your 6 cans of concentrate to thaw into a thick, kind of syrupy liquid. 2. Drain about 2/5 of the water 3. Remove the cap from the jug and pour a shit-ton of sugar in. Your yeast love this, don't be shy on the sugar. 4. Using funnel, empty your now liquid concentrate into the jug. Shake it up. 5. Prep your yeast, and drop it in. 6. This is the trickiest part- Grab your condom, blow it up, and carefully poke a tiny hole in the reservoir tip, without breaking it. It sometimes helps to get your needle hot before doing this. Non-lubricated is better, but not entirely necessary. 7. Replace the cap, which should be open, and carefully slip your condom over it. 8. Place in a warm, dark place, and wait 3 days to a week. Add more sugar if desired. (longer=more alcohol) 9. When draining the swill, keep it still and let the dead yeast fall to the bottom, or else you'll get a corpse-y taste. The grooves on your 2.5 gal. jug should help catch most of it, which will be on the bottom- or use a siphon.
Enjoy!

Good shit, eh? Cheap and get's ya fucked! Not too shabby on the flavor either. Now there is a way to make a solar evaporator for distillation.. not too useful this time of year in the northern hemisphere.. We tried putting fermented sugar-water in a pyrex baking dish, with plastic sheeting duct-taped over the top, with a cup in the middle, and a rock over the top to let it drip in, but you usually have more luck with just you're typical copper-tubing setup. stuff's cheap, just gotta put it together right. some people actually use mud to seal the joints of their distillation setup.. kinda gross, but if it works, right?
Glad ya' liked it
