I have a macbook pro with an inbuilt iSight webcam, I managed to get the webcam to work in chat by setting my Camera settings to "USB Video Class Video", I would think it would also work for other models that use the same camera.
Just something I thought would be worth mentioning for anyone having trouble with their iSight in chat.
