Sin City is one of my favourite movies, so I was sad to read that Brittany Murphy has died. At 32!

Here are the details:

Dude, my brother told me about it last night.
I'm one of the few people that still haven't watched Sin City, but I love 8 Mile, great movie, I have it on vhs.

It's a pity, she was young. And a really talented actress.

People die every day.

I knew her to the same extent that I knew a child starving to death in Ethiopia.

I was familure with her work, I knew that she was an actress and I knew her name. Does this mean that I “knew” her? No.

I think it’s sad that one so young should have their life cut short in a tragic incident (no doubt self induced), but, really, does this person warrant more grief than your average Joe simply because we knew her face?

Context above most things in life is essential. In this situation, I urge that people put this in the aforementioned terminology.

I liked her.
Her movies made me smile, laugh, and one of them made me cry.
In that way she affected me more than some people I know in real life.

It doesn't matter how she died, but how she lived.
The movies of hers that I saw and liked left a mark.

Isn't that something we all should aspire to.

Leaving a mark that lasts.

Yes.

It's a tragic loss over a nice piece of ass, a good actor (actor and actress matter not as gender specific titles need not apply to the trade) and potentialy a good woman.

Watching an interview with her in it she does seem very level headed and goal oriented, as opposed to most celebrities who could give a rats ass about their surroundings. I'm a bit bummed over her passing. Given she is no Princess Di and wont have the world-wide memorial, but it's a loss none the less.

There are rumors of her death being drug related, who knows...

I agree that her death is no sadder than anyone else's. If she had not been famous, would it have made the news? No.

That's not to say I have no sympathy for her family, however it is the same sympathy I would (and do) feel over any senseless death.
