Just got back from it. One word; AWESOME.

While it focused on action much more than Doyle's stories, this addition fit well into the overall style of the movie, and kept Holmes' signature "ingenious bastard" moments that made the literary character so entertaining.

On a more occult note, I couldn't help but noticing that the Order of the movie seemed to be a sort of cross between Freemasonry and the Golden Dawn, with the rogue mystic Blackwood serving as an obvious tip-of-the-hat to Old Man Crowley.

I personally think the older movies are better; but this one has definite charm to it.

I remember being completely fascinated with the Moriarty/Holmes rivalry. In adolescence, I recall seeing 'Young Sherlock Holmes', there was certainly some fun acts in that film as well...

If you've seen it, remember this Ritual Scene?
