Nice article and an attractive prospect. Transporting just 13 men seems to limit mission parameters but hell, it's 13 Marines, so maybe I should watch my mouth!
13 well armed and well trained men can do A LOT. A strike force doesn't have to be large do be effective, and in some cases, a larger team can jeopardize a mission.
When we deployed as an Advon Team (Advance Group to Set up forward operations) there were usually no more than 20-25 of us to set up a bare-bones air operation wherever needed. Once we were on the ground and set up, we could rapidly ramp up to several thousand troops with full equipment requirements in a matter of hours.
Bury your dead, pick up your weapon and soldier on.
