After receiving death threats over the portrayal of Muhammad in a bear suit, Comedy Central pussied out and decided to cut out anything potentially offensive to Muslims from the recent episode:

That annoying bleeping was not meant to be there:

In fact, Kyle's customary final speech was about intimidation and fear. It didn't mention Muhammad at all but it got bleeped too. We'll be back next week with a whole new show about something completely different and we'll see what happens to it."

From now on, when a Muslim extremist says "jump", we'll all have to ask "how high"...

What's funny is that although this censorship was designed to prevent any offense to Muslims (and hence harm to themselves), it instead provoked one hell of a backlash. I've seen racial comments flying, plenty of references to 'sandniggers' and camel fuckers, and instead of a mere cartoon depiction of Muhammad - they are getting videos like this (making full use of the Danish cartoons):

That was pretty funny though.

(Shit, I hear a fatwa calling)

So this really is genuine and not some elaborate joke? If it's the former - and I haven't seen South Park for ages, much to my chagrin - then I'm appalled. I know few people would refuse to take a death threat seriously, especially when they have a duty of care towards employees but this is blackmail. By the way, have you seen the South Park version of Satan? Isn't it great that we can take a joke?

While some of the censorship was apparently done for comedy value, such as the "censored" sign over Muhammad which also appears over Tom Cruise after he draws on his "magical goo" which gives him the power to not be made fun of - the long and ear-bleeding bleeping certainly was the real deal. Even the name Muhammad was bleeped out of this episode. (And whether intentional or not, that does make him sound like a cuss word, lol)

And yeah, I doubt many Satanists (other than the fuckwits at JoS) would be too offended at this:

Yeah I think it is pretty lame that Comedy Central gave in and censored the episode. All they are doing is telling the Muslims they can get away with threatening people with violence in order to get their way. 9/11 was one thing, but fucking with South Park is going too far.

I liked the use of MSI played over the picture of Muhhamad but it should have been longer. Stupid mother fuckers!

The reason that I like south park is because pretty much everything was open to be made fun of. If Islam can censor South Park, then we have surely lost the war.

Blah, what a crock of shit.

Freedom of Religion means EVERY religion.

Freedom of Speech means ALL Speech.

Fuck Censorship and everyone who supports it should be shot.

And now that I've gone to the website RevolutionMuslim.com my I.P. and name will appear on the FBI's watch list. Good Job.

Haha! Good idea, that - I think I feel my artistic tendencies coming out. \:\) Seriously, though I thought it was forbidden for Muslims to make pictorial representations of ALLAH, not Mohammed? The latter was God's prophet and an ordinary man, surely?

Slim chance of that, but you can always browse the site using http://www.hidemyass.com

Not only is the website back up, and prominently displaying an image of the severed head of a young child - it's pinning the blame squarely on "fans of South Park" for the child's death.

At the same time it calls Jews 'Nazis' and attacks them for "suppressing freedom of speech".
Oh, the irony...

P.S. I brought the South Park censorship issue up in an earlier post.

Here is the picture Meq is referring to from revolutionmuslim's website:

And here is their twisted and pathetic excuse for putting it on their front page:

"The photo above is a Picture of a dead Palestinian Child killed in 2009 with a U.S. weapon paid for by fans of South Park and unmentioned by the U.S. media who would rather collect section of a blog post and seek to perpetuate "war" like this - Gilad Shalit tried to do this to several Palestinian children, yet Hamas continues to feed, clothe and shelter him in the best of conditions - it would probably be in Israels best interests to exchange those prisoners now, just some friendly advice..."

We are dealing with some sick fucks, in case you weren't already aware. One can only hope that Anonymous will re-launch their DDOS attacks and bring the site down for another week.

Just in case anyone is under the impression that this is merely a bunch of fringe loonies, and the religion of Islam is entirely free of responsiblity:

As for the Islamic ruling on the situation, then this is clear. There is no difference of opinion from those with any degree of a reputation that the punishment is death. Ibn Taymiyyah a great scholar of Islam says, "Whoever curses the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) -a Muslim or a non Muslim- then he must be killed...and this is the opinion of the general body of Islamic scholars.”

Likewise Ibn Mundhir, another classical scholar, said, "It is the consensus (ijma’) of our scholars that the one who curses the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) should be executed!"

The only reason moderate Muslims might not agree is because, contrary to their faith's requirements, they are cherry-picking. Which explains their reluctance to outright condemn those who follow Islam more 'religiously'.

Muhammad. Piss be upon him.

A local author to me who I know well risked death threats for his criticism of Muhammad. I was lucky enough for him to actually give me an unpublished draft of his book around 5 years ago.
The following quote is from the final published version (co-authored with Peter Gandy), although I know Tim well enough to know that these are his words:

Originally Posted By: Timothy Freke, "The Laughing Jesus"
Prophets are dangerous people because they profess to speak for God, which gives them a claim to absolute authority. Prophethood is a form of idolatry, because the prophet comes to represent God in the same way as a statue. Living prophets are far more dangerous than stone statues, however, because prophets are people with their own personal agendas. People with a puffed-up sense of their own significance, who really believe that they can tell others what God thinks. People who become inflated with their own delusions of grandeur and demand that they themselves be treated like God. People like Muhammad.

Islam is a personality cult created by Muhammad to eulogise Muhammad.

Perhaps now it makes a little more sense why any criticism or parody of the Prophet results in such a hostile reaction? Only by demanding respect with threats of violence can open criticism of their Prophet be silenced.

If people were free to treat Muhammad as any other megalomaniac in history, Islam would be exposed for the violent personality cult it is, and the entire pack of cards would come crashing down...

This really pissed me off. South Park was even being nice about it. They weren't making fun of Muhammad, they were just trying to make a point. Even funnier, if it was Muhammad in a bear suit that outraged them, if they followed the story they would have found out it was Santa Claus the whole time. Now they're saying South Park is bombing Muslims. That's what the next South Park really should be about. South Park just decides to start bombing Muslims. They just figure if they got blamed for it anyway they might as well get the satisfaction of actually doing it.

The whole situation is all fucked up. In reality nowhere does it state in the Qur'an that Muhammad cannot be shown, at least to my memory. It does say images of Allah or any representation of what is in Heaven cannot be made. It talks against idol worship. The Christians have those same laws in their Bible, but they've obviously ignored it. It is oddly enough for this reason, as I have come to understand, that Muhammad got his status in modern Islam. The reasoning went something like this:
 Quote:
Guy 1: I was thinking of making a painting of Muhammad.
Guy 2: Muhammad is such an important person, are you not afraid of making an idol out of him?
G1: You're right, I don't think anyone should make a picture of Muhammad. Then he might become an idol and that would go against our laws.

So they treat him the same way as Allah and he then becomes an idol.

i completely agree that South Park should not have censored that last episode; but in happier news, i have noticed that over the past few years censorship has been lightening up a bit at least in my area.

Update: Viacom International (who own Comedy Central) has rejected my original YouTube video's claim to fair use of copyrighted material (on informative/transformative grounds), hence it has been pulled.
Not wanting to fuck with Viacom, I completely deleted it.

Either they are being excessively ruthless in removing videos knowing that few would take them to court over fair use, or in this instance they didn't like the implied criticism of Comedy Central.

Meanwhile Bart Simpson has voiced his support for the South Park crew:

In case you missed the original video (the embedded version above may still work for a while), you can still see the part which has been censored in the video below, from around 2:35 to 3:25 :

"Hence, the strong will win, and they'll assert a new world order. I suggest everyone take a moment to think about how such a battle will be won, and how we make sure that the winning side will be the one we're on."

Due to political correctness in this country, coupled with a sense of fear, we have already lost. We caved in, and censored free speech.

Now its just a matter of time, unless this censorship fuels a plan to rebellious anti-pc action. That action itself is doubtful since the "elected" officials really don't give a shit.

Honestly, giving in to terrorist threats is like giving a bratty little kid the bag of candy he screamed for. It's the exact opposite of what one should do! By rewarding that kind of behavior, one just reinforces the idea that this is the way to get what one wants.

In some weird way freedom of speech is freedom to censor what speech is being held on your network. As much as I hate censorship Comedy Central did have the right to hold back anything they thought would cause their company harm. Having opened my own business has opened my eyes to a few things differently. For example I give my artists Internet access through a wifi point to their own personal laptop. Ultimately it is me who is responsible for anything that is downloaded or uploaded on my Internet access point. It is therefore in my right to censor and/or limit a persons Internet access as I see fit.

I must ask should I now be shot? When does self preservation start to look like you're just scared?

That’s why they win… You don’t have the money to file a counterclaim to their DMCA this is what they count on. Filing a false DMCA to take down a video is illegal in itself yet because they are a big corporation they are allowed to continue in this fashion.

This man is about four videos into exposing the bullshit Viacom has been up to over the last month or so. This last video shows how it is ok for them to infringe on our works but not the other way around.

Wow, kill all Satanists because one radical believes and practices ritual sacrifice. Sorry I cannot stand behind any such blanket statements.

Viacom has much bigger issues that need attention yet because something was censored all focus is now on these small potatoes. Smells like misdirection to me.

Sorry but I see nothing here that is surprising, intelligent or very original at all.

Carry on…

Please do not put words in my mouth; nowhere did I say anything about killing anybody, let alone anything about killing everybody.

The point of that video was not meant to be surprising, intelligent or even original. No, it was meant to be offensive, and in that, I think I succeeded. Other people whom I have shown it to thought it was fucking hilarious - which was another one of my intentions.

As far as I am aware Viacom is still in the middle of a major lawsuit with Google (who own YouTube). Thus uploading ANY material owned by Viacom on YouTube (even what would legally be classed as 'fair use') is not recommended - at least use a different video sharing site. My video got over 1000 views before being pulled though, so it wasn't all in vain ;\)

I have seen other videos removed by Viacom (or apparently by them) far less justifiably, which don't infringe copyright at all. Yet other users have downloaded and re-uploaded them, both on YouTube and elsewhere, which at least provides a counter to the heavy-handedness.

The best strategy to avoid a video being pulled completely may well be to upload it to as many different sites as possible, and to encourage others to download and re-upload it as necessary...
