What is there to discuss? Ramirez was a deeply disturbed man who killed people and claimed that he was obeying Satan's orders. Maybe he thought he was; maybe he was lying in the hope of being found guilty but insane. He was certainly not a Satanist in the sense anyone on here would understand.

He admired Lavey yet did not want to associate with Satanists due to the particularities of his belief system. He really was most of a theistic type, with the literal belief that Satan was protecting him. Whereas Lavey say Satan in more symbolic sense.

I do think Ramirez had a different motive than most sexually sadistic serial killers. Sure he raped his victims, but he primarily killed to rebel against society and because he liked the thrill and "challenge."

Meatl - I seriously suggest you read the rules for this forum and
make a post introducing yourself, including details about your own interest in/affiliation with Satanism.
This is not a site where people can leap in and present dubious topics for "discussion". Some of us have spent half a century or more in the study and practice of the Left Hand Path. We adhere to the highest standards of courtesy in all our dealings. Therefore, we require high standards of those who would interact here.

That (explaining where I stand in relation to Satanism) would require more time than I am willing to dedicate at this immediate minute. Maybe later.

I understand that rules do not forbid off topic posting, but...

Since I’m bored and killing time until morning…

I'm sure screaming “Hail Satan” in court was clearly to prove his insanity and another way he chose to disassociate himself.

Why should I care about what any man thinks or thinks he knows about another mans beliefs?

Oh really do tell what brought you to this conclusion…

Challenge? Ever fire a gun son? There is not much challenge in gunning down sleeping men and overpowering and raping 60 – 70 year old women. Well not for the strong at least.

In that case, why don't you fuck off nicely until you do have the time?
Sorry about the one-liner, Mods but this is all the time I am willing to dedicate to responding at this immediate minute.

Agreed, he is an idiot.

I do have some sort of fascination with some serial killers. There are some who seem to be highly intelligent, yet appear to be completely unaware (or unable to fully grasp) of the objective universe and all of the various cogs and gears that run it. Sometimes the motivations of some of these folks are so bizarre and surreal that I can't help but be interested.

Ramirez, on the other hand, seemed to fancy himself a loner and eventually made victims of the weak and/or innocent. To me, this speaks volumes to his own weakness, as if it need be underscored further. Maybe there's more under the surface, but to me, Ramirez comes off as a hypocritical puppet in his own right.

It is a fun fact to notice most teen-age gothic/ black metal asshole (or general idiots) drawn to Satanism have a weak spot for serial killers... Just as if such people are the "heroes" or icons of rebellion against..uhrrr..something.

Richard Ramirez was a serial killer who sometimes mutilated his victims. Calling him a hardcore Satanist is like calling the pope god. As far as I am concerned he is a burden to society. May they flush this turd as quickly as possible.. which is the same feeling I'm getting towards the OP.

"Killing is killing whether done for duty, profit or fun."

There is a song by Marilyn Manson that begins with that quote, I always wondered where it came from and now I know. He does make a good point there, however, it seems as if he was trying to down-play the seriousness of his crimes and his own guilt: "a product of blood-thristy times".

At least Kemper was able to admit his faults were his own and didn't try to project or blame his madness on the world he lived in.

Ramirez thought of himself as a hardcore satanist. There is plenty of evidence for this. Pentagrams written on walls of victims. Listening to death metal as he drove his car. Forcing victims to swear to satan.

Gary Ridgway was a hardcore Christian and a serial killer. He broke down and cried when in his trial, a Preacher talked to him. So the point of this thread is not to say if Ramirez is a Satanist, then all Satanists are like Richard Ramirez.

It doesn't mean that Ramirez is an example which one should follow. Nor does it follow that I suggested this in the OP. The rules here forbid stupidity! It is not "disrespecting familiars" to point that out!

Well, not all Satanists are dumbass spics with halitosis. But there sure are enough nobodies who want to be somebodies. Some of them like to call themselves Satanists. Fortunately most are saved by their own insincerity in these things. Sincerity is a very dangerous thing. Like Richard Ramirez, I hope your sincerity doesn't cause you more problems than it's worth, Metal Gear.

Ramirez is as much a Satanist as predatory priests are Christian-- that is, by self-misidentification only. Strip away the hyped-up sinister veneer he and the media have made, and you're left with nothing but another lowlife, junkie creep who gets a stiffy from victimizing others because his own life is in the gutter.

If we ascribe the Luciferian traits of pride and wisdom to have any value in the consideration of "Satanism" proper, we quickly find that the rabble of unstable idiots in it for the image are less pertinent than the unsuspecting might think.
