Ah, nice taste indeed.

If I do drink (which is a major rarity) I'll normally indulge in a substance such as Woodstock Bourbon, or perhaps a Light Victoria Bitter. Other than that I don't drink anything else, and wine just doesn't catch my fancy as I'm not one for a sweet-tooth.

Bud wiper puts out a holiday bock.

It's respectable considering it's from the wiper crew. (Budweiser)
It is a large 45.6 ounces (yes, it's a middle class 40oz \:D . Much like the traditional bock which was created for lent in order to appease the lord and still get some calories in there. (Hurray for human nature!)

It is less sweet the then Sam Adams double bock and very approachable. If your local liquor store still has some I highly recommend it. I just polished off the bottle and I feel great, despite the calories. ;\)

Back story: I am the current beer manager at the Hawaii Liquor Super Store and our new owner is disgusted that we even sell it so we are giving it away to our loyals. I liberated a bottle tonight, naturally and am thrilled with the product.

So there are 23 of us online right now and I'm in the mood to fuck off in chat... any takers?

All bocked out,

Delusion

I've also grown partial to a well constructed mojito. Trouble is finding a bartender that can get it right. Either they go heavy on the simple syrup or soda water. Fresh mint is an absolute must. Some bars use mint extract or a mojito mix. So far the best one I have found is at our local Fridays, believe it or not. As the warmer weather approaches, I will be ordering more from various other restaurants. My quest is just beginning.

Chili's makes decent ones as well. I've had them at a real Cuban restaurant, and instead of using the sugar syrup, they put a stick of sugar cane in the drink as a stirrer. I wasn't thrilled with it, as sugar cane itself is inedible and there was no good way to break it down to release the sugar into the drink without taking a mallet to it. Or chewing the sugar out of the fiber and spitting it out into my drink. That's just not classy.

I like cowboy cocksuckers, or as I have recently renamed them, Heath Ledgers.

Baileys Irish Cream and Butterscoch Snapps. Yummy.

I also love Galliano White Sambuca.
Coopers Pale Ale or Sparkling Ale. With a dash of Sprite in the first one on a really hot summers day is very refreshing.
Tequila and Dry Ginger Ale (has to be Schwepps though, I tried to drink them in America, but their dry ginger was of a very weak flavour and I found it un drinkable).
Annies Lane Cab, Merlot mix
Henschke pretty much any of their reds.
Tequila shots in Pints of beer.
Tequila, vodka and Kaluah in Milk, in a tall glass with ice.
Hmmmn that's about the current range.

I found a very good one at a newly opened Thai restaurant last night. Believe it or not. No mixes or extracts. They used very small slivers of ginger in it. It gave it a nice zing. We extended our stay and our drink tab because of the mojitos and the food and conversation. This restaurant will get repeat business from us.

Ginger? Damn, that's different, and sounds delicious. Don't you just love Thai food? I've found it to be my favorite Asian cuisine.

I just planted an herb garden in front of my house, and besides a nice spearmint plant, I picked up Stevia, which is some 20 times sweeter than sugar. Since it's an herb, I thought throwing in a leaf or two would sweeten the mojito more naturally than the syrup. I just need to stop by my condo and get the wood muddler I have there to start experimenting.

You make the drinks, and I will grill some flesh. Yes, that restaurant will get our repeat business. The food and service was great. I've never heard of stevia. Please pm with your observations of it.

Favorite Scotch- has to be Glenfiddich.

Mixed drink- Dirty Bong Water...
1 oz Chambord raspberry liqueur
1 oz Blue Curacao
1 oz Amaretto
1 oz Spiced rum
1 oz Sour mix
Tastes like really sweet, spiked Kool-Aid.

Chavela- I'm not much of a beer drinker, but my wife mixes me a beer, Clamato, lime juice, and a bit of chili powder in a glass rimmed with salt and more chili powder.

For parties I have a steady stream of Cherry Bombs in production. The wait sucks, but they're worth it. Most recipes call for Everclear, but I've got some sitting in different flavored vodkas. I'll report how they turned out in about a month.

Here's a great link for Jello Shots...http://www.myscienceproject.org/
