A friend and I once distilled our own booze. We filled a big, 20 gallon drum designed for distilling with corn syrup and yeast. it took several days for the mash to be ready. I liked watching the bubbles churn through the loop in the special cap. We then set up the copper tubing, slow boiling the mash. The fumes condensed, and slowly drop by drop we got our first batch of booze. It is important to make sure the copper tubing is free of copper dust particles. Copper is rather toxic. It gave my friend a rash. Also, double or even triple distilling makes for more bang for the buck.
the taste is very pleasant, kind of fruity. This process is rather ritualistic in nature, magical even. It definitely has a kick to it.

Beer: grimbergen triple bruin, maes, duvel (not that cheap pee our more northern neighbours sell, Heineken etc is nothing compared to real belgian beer).
Wine: most of the time spanish red wines.
Strong alcoholic drinks: Wodka, port, whiskey
cocktail: kalasjnikov (a little glass of wodka with berryjuice and 2-3-5 drops of tabasco)

Let's see...
I am partial to Jack Daniel's/Gentleman Jack. I love Whiskey.
It has to be drank straight though otherwise it doesn't taste right. Nice and neat, no ice.

I am actually in the process of trying to learn how to distill my own mead.

I've kinda gone off JD at the moment. I'm liking Scotch and Irish Whisky more at the moment. Probably because I got wasted on JD and coke on very little food in my stomach. You don't want to know what happened next. XD

I can't drink scotch anymore, not the cheap shit that is. My uncle kind of spoiled me in that regard; he let me have a few glasses of some scotch that he had imported from Ireland at $450 a bottle. Everything else taste like crap now.
Sounds like you have a good story to tell, haha. I stopped drinking Vodka for similar reasons. Empty stomach and drinking don't mix.

Rookies. Drink a couple of beers before. Then you aren't drinking on an "empty" stomach.

I would rather just eat a piece of bread before I drink, if I haven't eaten in a few hours. Or eat while I drink, lol.
I can't mix beer and liquor, I get to nasty of a hangover.

Beer. Ew. Can't stand the taste of the stuff. I'd rather just get some bread or whatever food into my stomach than drink liquid wheat and yeast.

I like single malt Scotch. (favorite is Laphroiag 10yr)

Like high quality Tequila too.

And Rum (need to find a favorite still)

As for beer I don't drink it much. But when I do it's Guinness.

If we are talking about beer I like Blue moon, Mirror pond. Mostly I like the ones that are a little harder to find then the typical Bud, Miller, and corona (although corona is good). Anyone got suggestions for me I'm alway open to trying new beer.
