Honestly, I am just trying to a little "market research" for lack of a better term. In general, what draws you to the 600C and what keeps you here.

In general, the 600C has a bit of a reputation of being the 'mean site.' So, why do so many join here and continue to come?

What do you like and dislike? I want to know.

Gonna bite here.
At first during my days at the MCoS my visions and general mindset were quite different. Despite I claimed to know about Satanism I didn't. Why I seeked this place out was because one of the members I admired back at the MCoS told about this site in a rather negative light. I came here with the idea of finding people who at least could give me a decent intellectual challenge, it didn't let me down and got my arse served quite a few times.

Nowadays, t600C is a place (to me) where sometimes interesting discussion still arises and where real pieces history of Satanism are to be found (when searched properly). It only, to me, is the only place where different individuals with a more or less same view can be found. I could also sum it up in 1 word as "entertainment" but it simply sounds wrong since there is something fundamental lacking with that description.

I had never heard of this site when I joined so the reputation it carries didn't sway my opinion either way. After reading through several threads I figured this place would be worthy of my time to contribute to.

As I am sure many remember I had a rocky start and certainly had no shortage of people who wanted to see me tossed out on my ass. I was forced to back up my thoughts, opinions etc. with sound logic and reasoning. Baptized by fire, as it were. I liked it.

I like the low tolerance for bullshit high standards that are upheld here. I like a few of the people I have "met" here and the conversations we have had on the forums, in chat and through other means.

I don't like the level bullshit that slips through the filters. Don't mistake me; this is not a shot at the performance of Moderators or Admins. You all do a fine job of culling ( ;\) ) the stupid, annoying and unintelligible that find their way through these halls. There is no telling what this site would like devoid of any moderation at all and I shudder to think of it.

However, there are some who should be snuffed on principle.

For me it's a combination of what Dimitri and 6Satan6Archist6 have said.
1) There's history here if you know where to look
I always enjoy reading Jake999's anecdotes of his time spent with LaVey and Dr Aquino's perspective is always interesting and at the very least, educational.

2) The zero tolerance stance on BS and the typical "eSatanist" (to borrow a phrase).
My humor has a very strong sense of Schadenfreude, so when the occasional idiot does slip through and manage to post an entry, I take great pleasure in reading the skewering that follows.

I came here to meet Satanists. I really liked Satanism, considered myself a Satanist, but have never actually met another Satanist. So I went looking and wound up here. The conversation was intelligent, there was little tolerance for ignorance and stupidity, and found I agree with many here in many ways. I stay around because I feel as if I can talk about things here I don't think most people I know would understand or be interested in.

I found this forum by chance, in a Google search, and it was near the top of the list. If its at the top, it surely gets alot of attention. The bigger the event, the more information its bound to contain.

Without standards this would be no better then most of the forums on the internet. LTTD actually seemed more elitist, cliquish which didnt scare me, but annoy me into passing on even bothering.

There is always "three" sides to every story. More then one or two choices. If Im to glean anything from the rest of the seasoned membership here, the best way is to jump in, register, and participate. Many Satanists frown on internet usage. They say the real world is where we belong. I wholeheartedly disagree. Its our responsibility to use any tool at our disposal to broaden our understanding, and express pure thought in a way which is easier then trying to sneak around in a clandestine manner, and whispering in peoples ears if they want to talk about evil shit. This is convenient. This is "free" in that one doesnt need to travel to engage in meaningful dialogue.

I also appreciate the ability to read posts, reply and surf for porn, or weird medical images to gross people out with. Oh and Netflix.

I will stick around as long as the conversation interests me.

I really can't remember why or how I came here. I stayed because I liked the discussions and level of general intelligence among the participants.

Sometimes I am still a bit put-off by how vitriolic the banter here can get, but even this plays a vital role in keeping the juvenile rabble out.

It's difficult to find others of like mind when one has unconventional views.

Here we can discuss, among other things, the pros/cons of culling and eugenics. Here, there is (virtually) no such thing as a taboo subject.

As for The 600 Club garnering a reputation as "the mean site", I hope in some small way I was able to contribute to that

Echo in general what others have said.

In any area of sufficient size there is usually a place where the high-end folks hang out to chat with each other and maintain a high signal-to-noise ratio. When I went looking to see if there was such a place for Satanism (a la LaVey), for discussion, exposure, comparison, etc., I found several possible sites.

600 was clearly where the high-end folks hang out. Thus, assuming I could survive here, this was the best place to meet my desires.

You were part of our "no child left behind" program so don't hope for money too.

To answer Fist's question, in the days of yore there were only two decent forums; Lttd and the 600. Lttd was a like parking your brain in a factory while this place surely was funky.

I'm still here because all is about debatable here and if it isn't, we'll make it.

I've been around the block and I'm not easily impressed by much, having survived a life that hasn't been an easy one and having surrounded myself with people who are achievers in the real world.

When I really started studying I looked around at all of the usual sites and even spent some time with a few of them. What stood out to me was there were many sites with many people who were 'successful' Satanists online, but led lives in the real world that told the story otherwise.

Here at 600, I was delighted to find many folks who are similar minded to myself AND who are focused on accomplishing things in the real world. I enjoy talking about pragmatic Satanic approaches to solving real world problems as much as I enjoy talking about the more esoteric facets of Satanism. This site alone is heavy on both sides of that particular coin and so far, it's been alone in that respect (IMO).

I also love the atmosphere of 600, it is a place of exacting standards and, again, insofar as my own experience shows, the only place online where true stratification exists.

I just googled the site and found it. I join mainly to meet people and secondly for intellectual discussion. I don't normally go on satanic forums but might join some others later.

I am looking to join any sort of forum where I might meet useful people interested in similar things as myself. Unfortunately most forums about business, wealth strategies, self empowerment etc. are all scams or have only a few members and are inactive.

It seems the forums that draw the most people are more childish things in general (video games, racism, religion etc.). The people who are interested in concrete action (such as business, self empowerment, political power, manipulation, psychology etc) are busy doing business rather than posting on forums. Unfortunately I need to network and meet people and this is probably the easiest way for me to do it.

I am interested in any philosophy or approach that involves self improvement or empowering me.

My philosophy of life actually is satanic but I never think of myself as a satanist. Generally being a satanist means you want to "oppose" something like Christianity. As I've grown older I have less interest in debating people, fighting and opposing and more interest in simply doing better myself and not caring about what others think or do so long as it doesn't effect me. Therefore it is more effective to simply call my Satanism something else (Asatru) which is a more specific tradition.

Yet most Asatruar are not Satanist because they too are stuck in some loser mentality (such as want to recreate viking history). So truly I just scan any forum or area where I can find like minded people or useful conversation.

This is the level of Satanism where the kids hang out.

It is step one.

Deeper study and deeper application is the way of the few.

Networking with real Satanists, particularly if you need to do so, is likely to be a sparsely populated road for you.
