Would anyone on this site be interested in participating in an interview? Me and other students are doing a group project on Satanism and we would love to have the opportunity to talk to some members in regards to it. It could be through phone, skype, chat, email or even in person. We're very open minded on the subject so don't feel discouraged. If anything please send me a private message. We would really love to get to know and learn more about Satanism.

Thanks.

Have you already had a read through the Satanic Bible or any of the other books in the media room? Have you actually read any books on Satanism? I would start there before anything if you haven't.

Socio, this is a forum for people with an interest/commitment to Satanism and/or the Left Hand Path to discuss such matters amongst ourselves. While your interest is admirable I must say that joining such a forum and posing questions as you did above without even having the courtesy to provide an introduction in the appropriate thread is not acceptable.
Obviously, it is up to individual members here to decide if they want to speak with you but, to be frank, I doubt that you will be able to understand anything deeper than the basic tenets of Satanism as per Dr LaVey's book which, as Clicks suggests, you should have already read.

I agree that you need to at least read The Satanic Bible...if you're interested in learning about Satanism. There are also interviews of Anton LaVey on you tube, you could also check out the Church of Satan's website, and Joy of Satan ( for Theistic Satanists)...research.
I do appreciate that you don't want to just guess at what Satanism is for your project, and are trying to get reliable info from actual Satanists.
While you're here if you read our posts you will get a variety of opinions and views of Satanism.

I'm quite sure the person who's only post here is granting this interview is the wisest authority on the subject. Pick him and we'll all take notes on this interview which is sure to make this website a famous household name.

Why waste your time with interviews? All you have to do is peruse this site, and you'll have all the quotes you need. For instance, if your question is "Why did you become a Satanist?", go to the Introductions section and you'll get a variety of answers.

Satanists pride themselves on intelligence - you can quote me on that. Following my advice would be an intelligent thing to do.

Hmmm... There was a similar post at SIN a couple of weeks ago. Never responded to the thread that they made.

I wonder if it's the same person....

Probably. We get this same kind of thing at least once a year.

Well if Socio wants to do interviews I cant help but say theres no need to convict or condemn them- perhaps a very good thing or several things could come from that. Satanism does not teach humans to shy away from human interraction and learning from other people- when in fact relationships are vital to human existence. As far as meeting in person I wouldn't count on that just yet Socio, but I'm sure someone will interview for you. BUT don't expect the expected answers.

How was he convicted or condemned? Satanism is misunderstood so asking how much the interviewer knows about the subject is a logical thing to do. That way you don't have to spend thirty minutes explaining the subject before the interview actually starts.

As for good things coming from the interview, please. Most press Satanism gets is purposefully sensationalized (which can be considered a "good thing" from a certain perspective). It's typically some guy dressed all in black, who loves Death Metal and cuts himself in honor of the Dark Lord, that gets the interview.

Perhaps they want to learn from people more experienced in the spiritual walk of Satanism and feel The 600 Club is a pure pool of experienced comrades of the Left Hand Path. They could have a unique vision for what an interview could accomplish, who knows?
I however agree with what everyone here seems to be aiming at in that Socio should read all the posts and read the literature for themselves. But perhaps an interview could help to give them a fair view of how to approach Satanism all together. They may even be a little timid to pull from an impure or inaccurate source, which is understandable.

By the lack of proper background information for this interview, the purpose of it and in what subject it is situated, I am inclined to believe that it is dealing with kids or persons who do not really wish to learn.

If they were serious about it, more information would have been given.. and certainly a lot more professionalism.

Left, your entire post is hypothetical. Even if the interviewer wanted to learn from the "source" it would be better to read around 600 than do an interview. I know I don't want to sit around and spoon feed someone Satanism just because they're curious.

Dimitri, makes a great point as well. Without any real information about OP (credentials, etc) it's doubtful it is a serious inquiry.

People are judged here by the content of their posts, not the amount.

Of course, to earn their stripes, they have to invest some effort.

There's an obvious difference between a policy of judging by post count and suggesting that someone who's first and only post was to offer an interview doesn't show them to be an expert. Why consider interviewing someone on a subject, essentially holding them as a knowledgeable spokesman on the subject, when they have not posted a single word on it?
