I'm going to start a sketchbook on here to remind me of my darker half...maybe inspire me to bring a little more Satan into my art...I'd hate to lose my dark edge.

Here's some recent work for the big old conceptart.org project DEEP

Lovely friend of mine for reference:

Here's an old and rediculously detailed and large piece I did a while back for a friend/client

It's a game character, some Ivasians from GemStone IV...pretty nasty people overall, they spread disease and worship the goddess of sex, lust and pestilence...here's they're just having a nice chat, Tolwynn is giving a lecture or something (which he does in the game, roleplaying and so forth).

these are all of his girlfriends (also played by real people)

Anyways there's some nice stellae work I did...all original though slightly influenced by the Etruscans...

Wow - Simply amazing. These are extremely well drawn with much symbology that I see, and the detail is amazingly well done. You are a very good artist and should be proud. I'm sure these works and many more like it could be submitted somewhere and you could be recognized as an artist and be paid to do art.

Do you draw these on the computer? Just curious. Any way, job well done. Keep up the good work of the dark; I'll be looking forward to seeing more of it.

Wonderful pieces my dear. What media did you use to create these? I'm guessing Photoshop, but I thought I'd ask just to be sure.

Oh sorry! =O I saw artist but couldn't actually derive that the title meant Professional Artist. Silly me. >_< My apologies; but then it makes sense that you're so good. What's the title of the company or such and such that pays for your art. How do you get recognized and get peopel to pay for your art? My girlfriend is an amazing artist as well, and would like to know how I can get her stuff recognized.

Thanks for getting back to me.
Well done, once again.

Tell her to get on conceptart.org, that's the best place to be, after that you can also enter the ARC Salon, at http://www.artrenewal.org

I have various clients, I don't even meet most of them, some just simply buy my work from the gallery and I get paid...it goes somewhere...I don't know what else to say...find a gallery, put your stuff up, get recognized....I work for some private and public companies, mostly trading cards and I've done some magazine covers in the past - nothing famous, just work and work can suck. I like my own stuff better \:\)

I have a website too, now...

http://www.dazimua.com

I'm working on finishing the Bapheling Daksha piece.

I like to use oil but canvas is expensive. :P

Work continues for the DEEP project at CA.org, this panel is in progress, any perverted ideas are welcome. (It's a Utopian government underwater, she's getting punished for stealing or somesuch)

Well not exactly, I used a pencil undersketching under most, or charcoal, but for color, yes I use Photoshop...I prefer oil, definately...acrylic can be fun but it dries too fast for my tastes.

I love charcoal....

Personally, I prefer acrylic to oils for the quickness in drying. Each to their own really.

As for Photoshop, I'm pretty useless at using it, but I use it to edit any of the levels, such as brightness, colour, etc.

It's been ages since I've used any kind of dry media, excluding graphite pencils of course. I may have to do some charcoal drawings again at some point, or even oil pastels. I'm going to have to produce some dry media images some time soon. After I've finished this piece for my brother of course.

Thanks for answering my question by the way. It's nice to know what other artists use and abuse. \:\)

I like to work the edges while I'm painting, the drying time on acrylic prevents the polished finish of oils, though i do appreciate speed, it just isn't conducive to my wrking style.

You don't work with pencil or pen daily? That's kind of abnormal for an artist, I think...I think my skills would degrade in less than a week if I didn't draw daily...

Oops I mean....I'm incredibly lazy and I should be drawing right now. \:\)

Why don't you show some of your work, I'm sure the other members would love to see it as well.

edit:

Oh I see what you're saying, you use pencils...well now, that's still dry media...come on now...

I'm in a project right now that requires non-disclosure but here's a teensy sketch I did the other day I rather like:

97and107, case in point on your sketch. But, if you want a personal opinion...forget/erase that halo crap.

Your a talented artist, Evil for you.

Here's the rest of the comic btw from last year's DEEP contest- shitty titling but I was in a hurry and it was my first time lettering. Next time I'll use a font..bleh. I don't care that you can't read it I wrote the script in a couple of hours.

One of my favorite people on conceptart.org runs the POW! (Panel of the week )project and right after DEEP opened a weekly titled "Strange Bedfellows" since he already suggested something naughty was going on with the girl and mer-king here I took the same story in the better direction...

i probably have a merman fetish
