The huge quantity of Satanic replies left me nonplussed. I have never seen so many responses to a thread on this web-site, but I don't venture here often as I'm grossly occupied with other things. But, I come here as often as I can which is less frequently than I'd like. 'Oh, well' you'd plausibly answer. But, I have yet to post something for this discussion (thread), so here I go!
The idea of Satan as espoused by contemporaries who have penned documents are a guiding force for a Satanist as we 'unlock the door, thus, opening it.' Basically, it's a mental effort as we view the changes objectively. For an individual to acknowledge an affiliation with Satanic thought of epicurean (principled) carnality, assertion of individuality, applied adversity, etc. is a gorgeous sight! A freethinker who has undergone self-training by studying diabolical thought then selectively integrating the concepts into their being, seeing, and acting cautions another. We hunger for information, and are patient to administer the black magic for well thought-out plans of action. Shame on the naysayers! The fuckers are torched. Those who proclaim to align themselves with 'Evil' deserve whatever public recognition we can mobilize. We all agree that there are rubrics that must be investigated and understood, and one way to gather black knowleadge is to make oneself read through all these posts!!! LOL
A fact: Wherever you may go, and whatever you may do your a spitfire.

Ever since i have read the Satanic Bible i have know i was a satanist, a few years ago when i first realized it i was somewhat of an immature highschool student and told people to see their reaction. That ended out causing more issues than i thought it would. So I spent a few years not speaking of it to anyone and getting a much better grasp of what it is about. Now days i don't bring it up but if someone asks i have no problem telling them.

I tread cautiously in public. While I am certainly not ashamed of who I am I am also very aware of the negative repercussions flaunting my "difference" can make. I tell friends if they ask but generally I keep it quiet and don't display any blatant signs - so to speak.

When I'm around people I see on a regular basis (school or work), I don't make a point of introducing myself as a Satanist or being overt, but I'll answer if I'm asked what I am. The two most common reactions I get from established acquaintances are, "What is Satanism?" or "LaVeyan, right?"
On the other hand, in a public setting, I often make a point of wearing a Sigil of Baphomet if for no other reason than it gets people to leave me alone. Back before I wore the sigil, I was approached by every obnoxious type imaginable because I looked friendly and receptive. The missionary would tell me about the love of Jesus. The histrionic would share her life's stories of heartbreak and woe. The crazy drunk would rant about Obama, socialism, and the attack on white people in America. The bratty little kid would start kicking the back of my seat. The salesman would start showing me merchandise. Charities would solicit me personally for donations. Activists would ask me to sign their petitions.
Publicly wearing the Sigil when I go out grocery shopping, eating, to the laundromat, or elsewhere has put an end to all of that. Far from provoking people to say something, it seems to shut most people up.

I think society should be taught about real Satanism, not to convert more people because most people don't have the common sense or even the balls to study it. But just to have all the misconceptions cleared up.
When I hear people of any “faith” based religion or opinion state the above, it makes my stomach turn, and I run the other way. Uneducated lazy fucks at one point attempted to say the same thing about “Ebonics.” I didn’t want to hear about that either. I also don’t expect those individuals who care about their belief systems to care that much about mine. I only did a study of their beliefs because I believe that it’s wise to know ones adversaries, but I don’t expect them to feel the same.
It's truly the only religion that makes any sense. No Islam is the only religion that makes sense!! Lalalalallalalaalalalalaalalalalala!!!

You have to admit though, because of Ebonics, In Living Color reached a whole new level of comedic gold.

I would have to agree. There is also the time honored question of "what constitutes real Satanism?" Is it campy 60's diabolism with hot naked chicks on a table? Is it thirteen-year old Slayer fans mumbling the Lord's Prayer backwards at night when their parents aren't home? It's a nasty can of worms that is better off closed.
The less the great unwashed know- or think they know- about it, the better. The thing I love about Satanism is that it can't be neatly defined or whitewashed. Sure, every so often you have the occasional bloke who feels it's his duty to run around blathering nonsense about Satanism being "respectable" and "not evil", but they don't tend to last long.
